Our
Comments: Explain
when ordering you don't want fish, eggs or dairy products.
They can provide vegetable and tofu dishes. The tofu is
not coated in egg. Some of the staff understand veganism.
Location:
Coming
off the M4, Royal Kitchen is ¼ mile past the Tesco
roundabout.
Staff don't have much
grasp of veganism but believe mushroom balti is vegan. Best to check.
The veggie breakfast is not suitable, containing Quorn sausages.
Our
Comments: Vegetarian cafe at the back
of a health food shop. The home cooked food is prepared
daily. Vegan options are stuff like bean burgers, potato
cakes and salads. They serve hot soya drinks and smoothies.

Our
Comments: When
you order explain you are vegan and the things you don't
eat, these can be left out. They cook in vegetable oil and
generally don't use egg in the vegetarian choices. Provide
vegetable and beancurd, not coated in egg when cooked,
dishes.
Our
Comments: Deep
pan and thin crust pizza bases are vegan, so you can
have the Vegee or Vegee-Spice pizzas without cheese on
either. If you ask they will give you another topping in
place of the cheese. The wedges are also vegan. Staff
are thorough on checking suitability and very helpful.
Home delivery available. They also have restaurants in
Narberth and Tenby, Pembrokeshire.

Our
Comments: Explain
to them you are vegan, so they can leave non vegan items
out of dishes. The beancurd is not coated in egg and can
be prepared in various vegetable dishes.
Location:
Next
to the New King George pub, near the hospital.
Our
Comments: The
only thing on the normal menu that can be adapted to vegan
is the pea & mushroom risotto. The chef has catered
for vegans before and has a good understanding of the
diet. In the past they have prepared starters such as soup
or mushrooms without cheese (may be able to get vegan
'cheese' in), mains including stuffed peppers with pesto
and vegetable stir fry with rice noodles and chocolate
strawberries for dessert.
Notice
is not essential but the more notice the wider the choice.
Avoid the sorbet as it contains gelatine.
Location:
Opposite Ivy Bush Hotel, near the Lyric Theatre.
Double room £26 per
person/night
Single room £30 per person/night
Our
Comments:
The breakfast can be adapted to vegan
with rice or soya milk and vegan margarine. They do not do
evening meals but packed lunches are available. Produce is
homemade, locally sourced or fairly traded and about 80%
organic.
Location:
In
Carmarthenshire, just off the Pembrokeshire border within
15 minutes of the A40 from Carmarthen to St Clears.
Our
Comments: Restaurant with a lounge bar and accomodation. It
is situated in a vineyard. There are a couple of vegan
options on the menu and others can be adapted or created
to order. As they cook from fresh to order there is no
problem catering for vegans. Seems like you would have to
book to dine here.
Location:
Detailed directions are available on their
website.
Our
Comments: Self catering thatched cottage which is totally
vegetarian. Guests are not allowed to eat meat or fish
there. You can order organic vegan evening meals or
hampers from the bloke who lives next door. This is
apparently if he is in, so it might be best to check bloke
next door hasn't got a busy schedule during your stay.
Location:
Half a mile from Llanbydder, just off the B4337.
Mind you, it’s probably best to check exactly how to get
there, as there is a dirt track involved.
Bed & Breakfast £90-£110 per double/twin
room/night
(£20 discount for single occupancy)
Our
Comments: Contemporary boutique bed and breakfast. The
veggie cooked breakfast is vegan if you have it without
egg. This features homemade vegan chickpea sausages and
bacon. Bread and cereals are also vegan. They have soya
milk. They don't serve evening meals.
Location:
Llandeilo town centre is 5 minutes walk away.
Understand veganism and
some of the menu is sometimes suitable. For more options speak to
staff on the day, or for even more give a day's prior notice.

Our
Comments: Explain
the vegan thing to them and they are very helpful. Say you
don't want egg, fish or shrimp. The stir fry with mixed
vegetables & cashew nuts and mixed vegetables in sweet
& sour or black bean sauce are vegan. The vegetable
and mushroom fried rices can be prepared without egg.
You
can't have the chow mein and the satay sauce is probably
not vegan, but check as they make it themselves.
The chips, hash browns
& fried potatoes are cooked in a separate fryer from meat products
so you can have them in a vegan breakfast but there are no suitable
sausages.
Our Comments: Vegetarian Centre on
a 40-acre organic smallholding. There is a bed and
breakfast and the converted farm buildings are
available for group holidays, courses, meetings and
workshops either self-catering or catered. Vegans can
easily be catered for. The centre owners are
vegetarian. Home grown organic produce is available
for self catering. Groups of up to 25 can be
accommodated.
They
are also starting to do green weddings which can be
vegan including the wine. See the website
www.welshgreenweddings.co.uk
Location: Detailed directions
are available on their website.
Our
Comments: They describe themselves as a coffee bar by
morning, café & restaurant by day and bistro &
wine bar by evening. Vegetarian dishes on the
menu, which have no animal products in the
description, are probably suitable. Meals are
freshly prepared and alterations are never a
problem but confirm you are vegan on ordering.
The homemade pizza bases are vegan so cheese
free pizza is available. They understand
veganism.

bean sauce and tofu dishes. The tofu is not coated in egg.

houses on the right after Sticks hotel, turn right into
the narrow driveway between two houses (opposite church
tower) and continue to the top. Heartspring is the big
pink house.
Our
Comments: This
vegetarian café caters for vegans with soup, vegan
sausages, main dishes such as curry or lentil bake and
flapjacks. A nearby health food shop runs it so there
should be plenty of things available if you ask. If you
give
notice they can do many more options.
Location:
Off
the mini roundabout at the castle end of Newcastle Emlyn,
next to the bridge across the Teifi.
Specials change from
day to day and sometimes may be vegan. Otherwise jacket potatoes.
Staff have good understanding of veganism.
