Our
Comments: Vegetarian cafe at the back
of a health food shop. The home cooked food is prepared
daily. Vegan options are stuff like bean burgers, potato
cakes and salads. They serve hot soya drinks and smoothies.
Our
Comments: Café
bar that seats around 30 where there are a number of
starter and side dishes suitable as well as a 10"
veggie pizza. Ask for no cheese or take your own and they will add
it. All food is prepared from scratch so if you give them advance
notice they are happy to modify dishes or create something
special. The soup of the day is also usually ok as long as
you ask for no cream. The staff are very friendly and happy to help.
They also have a large selection of herbal and fruit teas.
Our
Comments: Tapas bar with a number of suitable dishes. Some of the veggie options normally have cheese or cream so let them know you're vegan when ordering. If you ring beforehand the chef is happy to chat about vegan options that could be created and given notice they will make vegan garlic bread. The menu changes fortnightly and all food is home-made and freshly prepared.
Location:
Just off the main street, behind the town's clock tower and down a cobbled street.
Evening meals starters £5.50+, main courses £15.50+
Lunches about £7
Our
Comments: Restaurant with a lounge bar and accomodation. It
is situated in a vineyard. There are a couple of vegan
options on the menu and others can be adapted or created
to order. As they cook from fresh to order there is no
problem catering for vegans. Seems like you would have to
book to dine here.
Location:
Detailed directions are available on their
website.
Double room £26 per
person/night
Single room £30 per person/night

Our
Comments: Veggie
farmhouse B & B. The breakfast can be adapted to vegan
with rice or soya milk and vegan margarine. They do not do
evening meals but packed lunches are available. Produce is
homemade, locally sourced or fairly traded and about 80%
organic.
Location:
In
Carmarthenshire, just off the Pembrokeshire border within
15 minutes of the A40 from Carmarthen to St Clears.
Our
Comments: Self catering thatched cottage which is totally
vegetarian. Guests are not allowed to eat meat or fish
there. You can order organic vegan evening meals or
hampers from the bloke who lives next door. This is
apparently if he is in, so it might be best to check bloke
next door hasn't got a busy schedule during your stay.
Location:
Half a mile from Llanbydder, just off the B4337.
Mind you, it’s probably best to check exactly how to get
there, as there is a dirt track involved.

Price:

Our
Comments: Pub and bistro restaurant. They mention vegan
dishes on their website and the following are marked as
dairy free: Thai green vegetable curry with rice; Chickpea
& sweet potato vegetable patty with classic tomato
sauce. Both are served with accompaniments. For starters
there are marinated olives and bread with olive oil.
Location:
Take
the A40 into Llandeilo, in the centre of town.
Our
Comments: Contemporary boutique bed and breakfast. The
veggie cooked breakfast is vegan if you have it without
egg. This features homemade vegan chickpea sausages and
bacon. Bread and cereals are also vegan. They have soya
milk. They don't serve evening meals.
Location:
Llandeilo town centre is 5 minutes walk away.
Our
Comments: Hotel with restaurant. There is nothing
specifically vegan on the menu but if you contact them in
advance they will be able to provide you with a vegan
meal.
Our
Comments: Hire
out self contained cottages sleeping 4-6. Self-catering
for groups up to 6, for up to 10 offer full or half board.
Also hire out workshops for yoga etc. Will happily cook
vegan meals on request and replace cow’s milk with soya.
Will also supply vegan organic and local food boxes to
self-caterers.
Location:
Very
close to Llandysul, on a minor road just off the A485.
Our
Comments: Italian bistro and bar. They describe themselves
as a coffee bar by morning, café &
restaurant by day and bistro & wine bar by evening.
Meals are freshly prepared to order and alterations are
never a problem so vegans can be catered for. The home
made pizza bases are vegan so cheese-free pizza is
suitable.
Location:
In the town centre. Detailed directions are available
on their website.

Our
Comments: Exclusively
veggie/vegan bed and breakfast that offers vegan breakfast
and organic evening meals. Water from own spring.
Location:
4
houses on the right after Sticks hotel, turn right into
the narrow driveway between two houses (opposite church
tower) and continue to the top. Heartspring is the big
pink house.
Our
Comments: Restaurant. They can always provide meals
suitable for vegans but ask for advance notice. It appears
to be the sort of place you have to book a bit in advance
anyway. They prefer to discuss with vegans on an
individual basis, so they can cook things that someone
would specifically enjoy.
Our
Comments: Hotel with restaurant. The chef can provide
vegans but I would inform them beforehand and perhaps
explain what you don't eat to be on the safe side. From
the 'Crunch lunch' menu, served from Monday to Friday for
£5.75 the assorted platter with taponaid & balsamic
& virgin olive oil dressing sounds promising.
