cafe has vegan cakes that are homemade by the staff on
the premises and stocks soya milk for drinks. They don't
have vegan dishes on the normal menu but often provide
suitable options on the specials board. They have
frequently offered hummus & roasted vegetables that can
be served in jacket potatoes or sandwiches or they could
make up a salad, raw spinach, sliced onion, red pepper &
hummus bagel. They have also made other sandwich
fillings of pesto and sundried tomatoes. If vegans book
a table they can provide other dishes.

Chepstow Road and Christchurch Road.
the products are freshly cooked to order, they have
catered for vegans in the past and have choices of
salads, soups and stir fries which are suitable. If
there is something in particular you would like their
chefs to prepare they are glad to do this. Ask on
the old stone bridge into Caerleon. Turn left opposite
the Roman Legion Museum into Broadway. Enter the Priory

the best option in the town for vegans, the staff are
lovely and very informed on the vegan diet. There is
always a vegan option on the specials board such as dahl
platter, burger & chips or aloo gobi platter. They do a
very good value all day breakfast which can be made
vegan. Soya milk is always available. Cedars Café is
highly recommended by local vegans.
In the city centre, off the crossroads with High Street,
Commercial Street and Stow Hill.

are happy to veganise the vegetarian dishes, wherever
possible. Faux chicken, bean curd and vegetable options
are available. Takeaway is available at lunchtime during

separate areas from meat products. They use polenta buns
and the wedges and salsa are also safe to eat, cooked in
olive oil. The Kozel draft lager is suitable. The staff
understand veganism and will substitute vegan items for
unsuitable ones, such as replacing coleslaw with salsa.

Lemon & poppy seed and Banana cakes are also suitable,
and gluten free. If you book they can make sure there is

best to call ahead, so they can get an idea of what you would like to
eat, and make something bespoke. Endeavour to make their vegan meals as

extra virgin olive oil to prepare the dishes.
Veggie-World section of the menu has 25 dishes including
a good selection of veggie beef, chicken and pork and
beancurd options. All the veggie meats are suitable for
vegans. There are also other suitable dishes including
veggie chicken curry and veggie chicken fried rice. We
are unsure if the satay sauce is suitable for vegans.
There is a sit in only vegetarian set dinner for two
people or more at £8.50 per person. Explain that you are
vegan and don't eat egg as usual in Chinese restaurants.
Dishes that include egg can be made vegan friendly by
omitting it. Home delivery available within a 2 mile
radius with a £1 charge.
On a massive note of caution, please be aware there has
been more than one occasion when vegans have been given
meat rather than the ordered vegan substitute. Refunds
were given but it would appear they do not pay much
vegan customers’ requirements. If you do feel confident
in ordering from here, check your food before you leave.
